Delivery Ceremony for “WESAL-XI”

On 19th of March 2015, Grandweld Shipyards inaugurated the delivery of “WESAL-XI” in Dubai Maritime City. The contract for construction of the 42M Aluminum Crew Boat for Wesal Shipping was signed on 19th of March 2014. The vessel is equipped with high end navigational equipment and can reach speeds in excess of 26 knots with seating capacity of 83 persons. It has 104 sqm loading area for over 90 Tons of deck cargo.

Third crane workboat delivered to Kuwait Oil Company

KOC-Al JOUN has been delivered successfully to Kuwait Oil Company on the 15th of March 2015. The Crane Work Boat will have unrestricted duties and will be utilized for tasks such as heavy lifting , oil-pollution control, SPM hose handling, FO/FW supply to remote areas, and other similar duties. This vessel is powered by 2 x 1068KW medium speed main engines driving C.P.P Azimuthing Stern Thrusters. The engines are supported by Condition Based Monitoring System to monitor the engine and propulsion system through satellite. The vessel is also equipped with an offshore crane, capable of lifting 20 tons at 10 meters radius, and a bow thruster that enhances the vessel’s manoeuvrability.

Grandweld Shipyards inaugurates naming ceremony of Kuwaiti Oil Company’s AL JOUN

On 10th Feb 2015, Mr Hasan Bunain (K.O.C Deputy CEO), Mr Fadhel Boresle (K.O.C Marine Operations Manager) and Mr Jamal Abki (General Manager of Grandweld Shipyards) inaugurated the naming ceremony of the third Crane Work Boat KOC-Al JOUN at Grandweld Shipyards in Dubai. KOC-Al JOUN is the third in a series of crane work Boats that Grandweld is building for KOC. The first two vessels, KOC Al-KOUT and KOC Al-SOUR, were successfully delivered by Grandweld in December and January respectively.

K.O.C will use the Crane Work Boat for unrestricted duties and for tasks such as lifting and moving heavy equipment, oil-pollution control, SPM hose handling, FO/FW supply to remote areas, and other similar duties. This vessel is powered by 2 x 1068KW medium-speed main engines driving C.P.P. Azimuthing Stern Thrusters. The engines are supported by a Condition Based Monitoring System to monitor the engine and propulsion system through satellite. The vessel is also equipped with an offshore crane, capable of lifting 20 tons at a 10-meter radius, and a bow thruster that enhances the vessel’s manoeuvrability.

HSE Incentive Award Presented to ADNOC (TWAM1 & REMAH1)

50M Dive Maintenance Support Vessel project team for ADONC (TAWAM1 & REMAH1) have been awarded the HSE award. In recognition of maintaining zero incidents, safe working and environmental Practice, the evaluation was done by Grandweld Shipyards Health Safety and Environmental Department. This Award is presented by the General Manager and the HSE Manager of Grandweld.

The monthly HSE project incentive program shall meet certain HSE criteria with supporting documented evidence to be successful in winning the award. The project must meet Zero Lost time Incidents and zero accidents, submit 20 Safety observation cards as a minimum, emergency evacuation drill, daily HSE production meetings and a weekly HSE walk-around to close out corrective action.

“SHAH 1” successfully delivered to ADNOC

Grandweld Shipyards successfully delivered the 42M Aluminium Fast Crew Boat “SHAH 1” to the ADNOC group on the 14th of January 2015. The contract for the construction of the 42M Aluminum Crew Boat for Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) was signed on the 31st of December 2013.ADNOC awarded Grandweld after winning an international tendering for the Fast Crew Boat project and enhancing a successful business relationship.

The 42M crew Boat is powered by 3 high speeds diesel engines driving 3 fixed pitch propellers and capable of developing a speed in excess of 21knots. The Boat shall be a Fast Crew Boat with diving support capability to provide various Services required in the offshore operations.

The vessel has luxury features of 30 30-person crew seating capacity, with a 104 sqm loading area for over 90 Tons of deck cargo requirements, and specially designed wheelhouse and crew cabins to Achieve the highest quality standards and maximum space utilization and comfort. The vessels will be operated by Irshad in Fujairah Oil Terminal and will be utilized to transport personnel and support offshore oil & gas Operations.

First CRANE/WORKBOAT successfully delivered to KOC

Grandweld Shipyards successfully delivered the first Crane/Workboat, named KOC El-Kout (Imo 9688532), for Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) on the 15th of December 2014. The contract was signed in February 2013 to design and build a series of four heavy-duty Crane / Workboat class vessels to meet the specific needs of KOC. The vessels were designed by Grandweld and model-tested before starting production.

The vessels are designed for unrestricted duties and for tasks such as lifting and moving heavy equipment, oil-pollution control, SPM hose handling, FO/FW supply to remote areas, and other similar duties. These vessels are powered by 2 x 1068KW medium-speed main engines driving Azimuthing Stern Thrusters with Controllable Pitch Propellers. The engines are supported by a Condition Based Monitoring System to monitor the engines and propulsion system through satellite. Each vessel is equipped with a crane in the forward area of the vessel capable of lifting 20 tons at a 10-meter radius.

The vessel is also fitted with a bow thruster to enhance the vessel’s manoeuvrability. The vessel achieved a bollard pull of more than 35 tons and a speed of more than 11.9 knots during sea trials much above its contractual requirement.
