Grandweld Delivers the second of two Service Boats to Kuwait Oil Tanker Company

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, December 4, 2012: Dubai- Based Grandweld Shipyards has announced the successful delivery of the new service boat “Nakilat 11” to Kuwait Oil Tanker Company. KOTC Chairman and Managing Director Bader Al-Khashti signed the delivery documents with Grandweld General Manager Jamal Abki in a special ceremony held at KOTC headquarters in Kuwait.

The new 21.3 Aluminum Fast Service Boat is the second of its type to be delivered, following the successful launch of its sister vessel “Nakilat 10” in October 2012. The vessel is powered by twin waterjet installation to ensure high speed and maneuvering capabilities, and is designed to reach a speed in excess of 31 knots at 100%MCR. The design incorporates seating capacity for 20 offshore personnel, and a deck cargo carrying capacity up to 4 Tons. The vessel is also equipped with the latest technology of navigation and communication equipments.

Nakilat 11 will be part of KOTC new service fleet, and will be utilized by KOTC Marine Agency Branch to safely transport passengers and cargo to and from tankers calling Kuwaiti Oil Terminals.

Grandweld Shipyards to Deliver Two More 42M Aluminum Crew Boats

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, October 18, 2012: Grandweld Shipyards has been awarded a new contract to build 42M Aluminum Crew Boat for Wesal Shipping which was signed on the 9thOctober 2012.

This contract follows the successful delivery of the 41M Aluminum Crew Boat which Grandweld delivered to Wesal Shipping early in October 2010. The 42M Aluminum Crew Boat is a heavily modified version of the 41M, and is designed to reach a speed in excess of 25 knots and includes luxury seating, accommodation for VIP guests, larger deck space and enhanced comfort for the crew. The vessel features a total seating capacity for 83 passengers, 110sqm loading area for over 90 Tons of deck cargo, in addition to the capacity of carrying large amount of fuel and freshwater. The vessel will also have fully classed propulsion machinery.

The highly advanced design of the 42M Crew Boats has proven to be a huge success, and therefore has stimulated the demand for this class of vessels from new and repeat clients.

Furthermore, Grandweld Shipyards has signed a contract to deliver an additional 42M Crew Boat for the owner Global Marine, following the contract signed in August 2012, making this a total of three 42M Crew Boats. Grandweld is pleased to receive repeat business from its clients as this is a reflection of the confidence our clients have in our products.

Grandweld has recently opened its 55,000sqm facility at Dubai Maritime City which is expected to expand the annual capacity in terms of number of new builds. Grandweld is currently undertaking the construction of more than 20 vessels of both steel and aluminum including: Seismic Support vessels, Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels with DP2 capability, Work Maintenance vessels, Fast Intervention Supply vessels (FISV), Crew Boats and many more.

Grandweld Shipyards to Build Third Crew Boat for Khalid Faraj Shipping

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, October 1, 2013; Grandweld Shipyards, the Middle East’s largest shipbuilder, secured a repeat order worth US $5 million to build a new 42 meter aluminum crew boat for Khalid Faraj Shipping. This is the third order received by Grandweld from Khalid Faraj Shipping over the last five months. The contract signing took place at Middle East Workboats Conference and Exhibition held in Abu Dhabi on October 1, 2013.

“The 42 meter crew boat is based on Grandweld’s existing proven design, and can reach speeds in excess of 26 knots. The vessel benefit from luxury seating, VIP accommodation, a larger deck space and enhanced crew comfort. With seating for 83 passengers, the vessel has a 110sqm loading area for over 90 tons of deck cargo. The vessel can also carry a large amount of fuel and freshwater.” said Jamal Abki, general manager of Grandweld Shipyards.

Singapore Maritime Week April 2012

Stanford Marine has been awarded a contract by BG International Limited, Tanzania Branch, (BG Tanzania) for the recently delivered new generation deep-water Platform Supply Vessel Stanford Buzzard.

Stanford Buzzard is a cutting-edge DP2 vessel of MMC 887 design, 87 m long and 18.8 m wide vessel of 5,000 DWT. The vessel is driven by four Cummins QSK60-D(M) main engines each developing 2,547 BHP with diesel-electric propulsion. Ideal for deep water offshore supply, this vessel has 3500 metric tons of cargo capacity and 1000 m3 free deck space and can house 52 personnel.

She will be supporting BG Tanzania’s four to eight exploration and appraisal wells programme located in the Mafia Deep Offshore Basin and the Northern portion of the Ruvuma Basin.
In order to support the operations in Tanzania, Stanford Marine will open a satellite office in Mtwara, near the border of Mozambique.

Security upgrades required for this project included blast-proof windows, RPG netting, Armor bullet-proofing with ceramic ball material and a citadel capable of safely and securely accommodating all personnel and allowing them to maintain control of the vessel and communications from a hardened location which pirates are not able to breach.
