Grandweld Shipyards Honored by The Permanent Committee of Labour Affairs in Dubai
Grandweld Shipyards was honored by The Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs in Dubai, chaired by Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of GDRFA-Dubai, for their commitment and implementation of HSE rules and regulations across their labour accommodations in Dubai.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai had instructed the Permanent Committee of Labour Affairs in Dubai to emphasize the importance of endorsing and committing to the HSE standards both by companies and workers at labour accommodations and in their workplace. The committee’s goal is to promote and ensure higher HSE standards across Dubai in order to guarantee that workers’ rights and interests are met.
Jamal Abki, Grandweld’s GM, said: ‘Through implementing the requirements of our certifications the OHSAS 18001:2007 and ISO 14001:2004, Grandweld Shipyards manages to provide its employees with the highest possible standards of HSE. This is also achieved by means of providing a framework for monitoring the effectiveness, suitability and continual improvement of the HSE management system through the internal audits, safety inspection tours and management review of the company policies, manuals, procedures and objectives.’
