Dubai, UAE, 30 June 2014: Stanford Marine, a leading regional offshore marine business, announced today from its Dubai headquarters the delivery of the latest addition to its fleet.
‘Stanford Mustang’, a 50m DP2 Anchor Handling Tug was specially designed to handle a specific charter in Qatar and was built at Fujian Mawei shipyard in Fuzhou, China. ‘Stanford Mustang’ has a special low air draft to facilitate her ability to transit beneath the low bridges encountered at offshore facilities and has a Bollard Pull in excess of 60T, which makes her a valuable addition to the Stanford fleet.
‘Stanford Mustang’ is now on her way to Dubai, U.A.E. and will then head to Qatar to commence her employment on a 5 year contract awarded by a leading regional oil company in 2012. While ‘Stanford Mustang’ was being built, ‘Stanford Pride’ was utilized as a front runner for this charter after it was completely rebuilt and upgraded to DP1.
Stanford Marine’s General Manager, Darren Reeves, stated, “We look forward to welcoming Stanford Mustang to our fleet and we have great confidence that she will seamlessly slot into our Qatar operations. Like the horse she is named after, she is relatively small in stature, but strong and agile. I have no doubt that our clients will be happy with her.”
Stanford Marine continues to expand and rejuvenate its fleet to service its clients in shallow as well as deep water basins in current and new territories.
